Kolkata: A man attempted suicide on Saturday on Howrah Bridge, Kolkata. He climbed over the fence between two pillars. Police and the fire brigade promptly reached the spot for rescue operations. The man has been sent for a medical check-up.
“Today around 1200, NPPS received information that a person had scaled over the fence of Howrah bridge. Soon police team intervened and one Vishwakarma Kumar(27) S/o Awdhesh Shah of Chhapiya buzurg, Siwan, Bihar has been rescued from Howrah Bridge fencing in between piller no 4 & 5 with the help of fire force from Howrah fire station and he was sent for medical check up at Medical College Hospital,” police said.
