Hathras: Times Now has accessed the FIR in the case related to the stampede at a "Satsang" in Uttar Pradesh's Hathras which resulted in the deaths of at least 116 people, which included mostly women and children. The FIR reveals shocking gaps in the arrangement of the event as over 2.5 lakh devotees gathered at the Satsang which could accommodate only 80,000 people.
According to the FIR filed at the Sikanderarao police station, the gathering turned chaotic as devotees attempted to receive "dhool" (blessed dust) as Narayan Sakar Hari's (Bhole Baba) cavalcade approached. The situation quickly escalated when a commotion near the congregation point caused women and children to fall into a nearby ditch in a field.

Notably, the FIR does not mention "Bhole Baba" as an accused but names the main "sevadar" and points blame at the personal security of the godman for attempting to stop the crowd as they entered the field with the ditch, which exacerbated the commotion. The FIR also reveals that organisers failed to provide timely assistance to those affected, compounding the severity of the incident.

Furthermore, the FIR accused the organisers of destroying evidence, alleging that sevadars (volunteers) discarded clothes and shoes left behind by attendees in a nearby field, hindering investigations into the events.
A compensation package has been announced for the victims of the Hathras stampede, where Rs 2 lakh will be provided to the families of those who lost their lives and Rs 50,000 to the injured. Authorities have confirmed that a case will be filed against the organisers responsible for the event.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has pledged full support to the Uttar Pradesh government in managing the aftermath of the incident.
In a statement on social media, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath assured the injured individuals of proper medical treatment.
Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, expressed his condolences and urged workers from the INDIA Bloc to assist in the rescue and relief efforts.
