Ghaziabad: The national capital region registered a minimum temperature of 35.5 degrees Celsius on Wednesday, the highest recorded in recent times, as per The India Meteorological Department (IMD). This was 1.5 degrees higher than Tuesday's 34 degrees Celsius. The maximum temperature reached 44 degrees Celsius, adding to the heat stress experienced by residents.
In the past six days, Ghaziabad's minimum temperatures have ranged between 33 and 35 degrees Celsius, contributing to the surge in heat-related illnesses and hospital admissions.
Ghaziabad Weather forecast
The weather forecast for Noida shows a mix of conditions over the next few days. On June 20th, expect rain or thundershowers accompanied by strong gusty winds. June 21st and 22nd are likely to have mainly clear skies, offering a break from any precipitation. However, June 23rd marks the return of a heatwave, with temperatures rising significantly. By June 24th, the sky will be partly cloudy, and on June 25th, there's a chance of rain or a thunderstorm. Residents should stay updated on the forecast and prepare accordingly for the changing weather conditions.

The IMD predicts that despite a slight drop in maximum temperatures, the 'feel-like' temperature will remain high due to increased humidity. The feel-like temperature was 51 degrees Celsius on Wednesday and is expected to rise to 52-54 degrees Celsius on Thursday due to additional moisture from a western disturbance.
Delhi recorded its highest minimum temperature in 60 years on Wednesday at 35.2 degrees Celsius. The city has been enduring temperatures above 40 degrees Celsius for the past 37 days, marking the longest dry and heatwave spell in the region.
Precautions and Health Advice
Doctors recommend taking precautions to mitigate the effects of the extreme heat. Staying hydrated, avoiding caffeine and alcohol, and wearing loose cotton clothes are essential. Immediate medical attention should be sought if symptoms like fever, dizziness, rapid heartbeat, or fatigue occur.
As the heatwave continues, residents of Gurgaon, Noida, and Ghaziabad are advised to take necessary precautions and stay informed about weather updates. The IMD anticipates that the monsoon may reach Delhi-NCR around June 30, potentially bringing some relief from the oppressive heat.
