Hyderabad: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts a generally cloudy sky today, with a maximum temperature of 33 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 23 degrees Celsius. Over the next seven days, Hyderabad can expect generally cloudy skies with varying conditions. Light rain or drizzle is expected on July 3rd, while July 4th and 5th may see one or two spells of rain or thundershowers under generally cloudy skies. On July 6th and 7th, there is a possibility of rain or thunderstorms. Residents should anticipate a week marked by cloudy weather, occasional rain, and potential thunderstorm activity towards the end of the forecast period. It's advisable to stay updated with local weather advisories for any changes in the weather pattern that could affect daily activities and travel plans.
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has projected normal to above-normal rainfall for parts of Telangana in its monthly outlook for July. Nationally, IMD anticipates above-normal rainfall across India for July 2024, as per a Hindu report.
While increased rainfall can benefit agriculture and water resources, it also poses risks such as flooding, landslides, transport disruptions, public health challenges, and ecosystem damage. IMD emphasises the importance of reinforcing infrastructure, utilising early warnings, enhancing surveillance and conservation efforts, and establishing robust response systems in vulnerable areas to manage these risks effectively.
According to the latest Monsoon Mission Climate Forecast System (MMCFS), La Niña conditions are expected to develop in the latter half of the monsoon season. IMD plans to issue forecasts for rainfall in August–September and for August itself by late July.
On Monday, the IMD's daily weather bulletin forecasted that isolated places in Telangana are likely to experience light to moderate rain or thundershowers until July 8. In Hyderabad and surrounding areas, the weather is expected to feature generally cloudy skies over the next 48 hours.
