IGL Hikes CNG Prices By Re 1/Kg, Check Rates In Delhi, Ghaziabad, Noida, Ahmedabad And Other Cities

New Delhi: The prices of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) has been increased in Delhi, Mumbai and many other cities and is effective from Saturday. The Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) announced the hike of Re 1/kg following the drop in the supply of subsidised input natural gas.
In the national capital, the CNG will now cost Rs 75.09 per kg, up from the previous rate of Rs 74.09. In Noida, Greater Noida and Ghaziabad, the price has increased to Rs 79.70 per kg from Rs 78.70 kg, an ANI report said.
However, IGL has not announced any change in the piped cooking gas prices. The supplies from ONGC’s domestic fields are not in par with the CNG demand. Gas from ONGC fields make up for 66-67 per cent of CNG demand of IGL and the remaining has to be imported. Domestic gas supplies are prioritised for piped cooking gas purposes and hence there is no hike in that segment, the report added.
However, Gurugram has not yet witnessed the increase in CNG prices, as it is serviced by a different company. Other city gas firms have so far not announced any price change. In places like, Ajmer, Pali and Rajasthan, CNG prices have increased to Rs 82.94 kg from Rs 81.94 by IGL.
The CNG prices in other cities are as follows:
- Hyderabad: Rs 90.50 per kg
- Chennai: Rs 87.50 per kg
- Pune: Rs 89.00 per kg
- Kolkata: Rs 89.00 per kg
- Ahmedabad: Rs 76.09 per kg
- Kochi: Rs 85.50 per kg
- Bengaluru: Rs 82.50 kg
- Chandigarh: Rs 87.40 per kg
