Maharashtra Woman Stabbed, Her Throat Slit By Husband At Railway Station
The accused, identified as Shiva Sharma, stabbed his wife as she was walking on the elevated bridge at the station. The man tried allegedly strangled her and attempted to slit her throat. The woman was saved by the railway police rushed which rushed her to a nearby hospital. The man has been arrested.
The accused (in pic) has been identified as Shiva Sharma and the name of the injured wife is Veershila Sharma.
Mumbai: A man tried to kill his wife at a railway station in Maharashtra allegedly over a domestic dispute, the police said. The man allegedly tried to strangle the woman and slit her throat as the crowd watched in horror.
The shocking incident occurred today morning at Virar railway station, the officials said. The incident took place early morning at 7:30am today on bridge of platform number one at Virar station.
The woman was walking on the elevated bridge at the station when her husband attacked her, they added. The man tried to strangle her and attempted to slit her throat. The railway police rushed to the scene and admitted the woman at a nearby hospital. The man has been arrested.
The woman has suffered serious injury, officials said.
"Initial information has revealed domestic dispute as the reason for the attack. The name of the accused is Shiva Sharma and the name of the injured wife is Veershila Sharma. The accused has been taken into custody by the railway police and interrogation is underway," a police official said.
